I have a line I tell everyone who asks “where are you from?”

I was born in New Jersey, raised in Florida, went to school in Colorado, got a job in San Francisco and moved to Kansas from LA.

When I first came to Lawrence, the oasis of Kansas, I didn’t expect to stay very long. I’ve been here for nearly 20 years, and now I can’t imagine living anywhere else. The college, the wonderful downtown shops and parades, and the way you meet someone you know everywhere you go in this town, makes it the most comfortable place I’ve ever been. The Flint Hills of Kansas intrigue and inspire me every time I visit.
